Diversity is security. We create thriving ecosystems with boundless economic opportunity.
One Woodland’s core objective is to rewild forests, and ourselves in the process.
We believe in humanity’s potential to transform from a destructive force on the planet to an instrument of ecological prosperity.
Healthy economies rely on a healthy planet.
One Woodland has been launched in recognition of the need to incorporate the best of collaboration and innovation across industries in order to spawn ecological economies; industries capable of healing the planet and our relationship to it.
We understand the complexity of the ginseng industry.
We know first hand how hard it is to source good quality, organic ginseng roots, without depleting precious wild populations. Ecosystems are complex, as are the industrial pressures that threaten them. Producing substantive change across landscapes requires participation across industries lines. Succeeding will transform the power of industry into solutions for our planet.
Through collaboration, we nurture and build systems that heal the forest and help humans thrive.
We believe in collaboration over competition. By working together with other humans, we find greater strength in our ideas and our practices.
We are farmers, advocates for the forest and stewards of the land.
One Woodland technically launched in 2021, to take what we had learned in our training and past work and bring it to our region and beyond. However, in another sense, One Woodland began in 2014 as forest farm, started by Jamie Gillespie and Tanya Romero on multigenerational family land in the heart of the Catskill mountains. Find out more about our experience and path below.
